MIDI Micro Essentials Volume 1

The product comprises of 319 individual MIDI files (or 47 complete 'construction kits'), that are neatly organised into categorized sub folders for easy access and quick use in the sequencer of your choice. You simply drag and drop the MIDI files into your sequencer and let your creative juices flow! We've done all the hard work finding fresh chord progressions, top line melodies, deep basses, etc. You can easily use our files completely unchanged or tweak them to your own liking and style. We have also included all the MIDI files from our previously released freeware MIDI packs.

These MIDI patterns will not only give you a strong starting point to make your own productions, but also provide you with a comprehensive arsenal of spine-tingling plucks, plucks, leads and luscious chords to build on top of. The main focus was to produce a MIDI pack that would drive inspiration and not lock you into one genre, we wanted to allow enough creative flexibility to mould the construction kits to the genre of your choice, without staying strict to one genre. We have included a combination of uplifting and progressive styles in this pack, though all construction kits work well between 125-140 Beats per minute, so other slower genres are applicable also.

MIDI Library Properties

• 47 high quality construction kits that can be used to create tracks in almost any genre

Remix Competition

Alongside the launch of this free product, we are running an associated remix competition. You can pick any single construction kit or use a combination of MIDI files and create your own interruption (remix) in whatever genre you like (all genres are welcome – though some kits definitely lend themselves more to trance and progressive!).

The rules are as follows:

• You MUST create a full arrangement/mix of your track and do it the best quality/standard you are capable of. We won’t accept ‘demos’ or snippets of unfinished tracks.
• You must name your remix as follows artist name - construction kit name.mp3. For example: Freshly Squeezed Samples - Beside You (Original Mix).mp3. If you use a MIDI file out with the "Construction Kits” folder (i.e. within the "Miscellaneous” folder), then please give your track a title so we can find it easily and make sure you append your artist alias to the start of the file name.
• You are free to use whatever DAW, plugins and sounds that you like (though we obviously like hearing a few of our sounds as well!). You are free to add vocals or make changes to the melodies however you see fit. However there must be ‘some’ similarity with the original kit/MIDI file, even if it’s just one element taken from it.
• If you are not looking to get your track signed (as part of the remix competition bonus prizes), your remix can be posted publicly on-line, however download must be disabled. Remixes can’t be distributed for sale without the permission of Freshly Squeezed Samples.
• All entries will be judged by a combination of Freshly Squeezed Samples team members.
• We welcome multiply entries from a single participant.
• We do not accept submissions sent as file attachments.
• All entries must be provided in at least 320kbps MP3 format.
• If we receive a track that isn't named correctly, we will exclude your submission from the voting process.
• The final submission date is 20th of September, 2013.

Prizes

1st Place will receive:

• 5 products of your choice from our website.
• £50 in cash prize money (sent via PayPal).
• We will feature your track on our YouTube and SoundCloud channels.
• We will promote the winning entry via our mailing list and social media pages.
• We will help you get the track signed to a record label.
• We will provide constructive/professional feedback on one of your future productions.

2nd Place will receive:

• 3 products of your choice from our website.
• We will feature your track on our YouTube and SoundCloud.
• We will promote the winning entry via our mailing list and social media pages.
• We will help you get the track signed to a record label.

3rd Place will receive:

• 1 product of your choice from our website.
• We will feature your track on our YouTube and SoundCloud.
• We will promote the winning entry via our mailing list and social media pages.

Runner Ups will receive:

We will pick our favourite runner up entries and feature them on our YouTube and SoundCloud accounts. All the winning entries will be featured on the product page alongside the MIDI Micro Essentials Volume 1 product information.

Submission Process

Once you have finished your remix, you can submit your entry by sending us a downloadable link to [email protected]. Entries sent with file attachments will be excluded from the competition.

The email subject MUST contain the full track title, for example: Freshly Squeezed Samples - Beside You (Original Mix).

You can send us a download link using either SoundCloud (make your track private and enable downloads), then send us the link or you can use one the following services: SendSpace or YouSendIt. If we receive a track that isn't named correctly, we will exclude your submission from the voting process.
